Concert: Thammarat

SUNDAY, 2/15 • 4:30-5:30 PM

Thammarat (TAH-mah-raht), aka Brennan Connell, is a Maryland/DC–based indie pop songwriter and vocal powerhouse creating story-driven anthems and ballads.

Shaped by childhood influences ranging from early-2000s Barbie movie soundtracks and Broadway musicals to LGBTQ+ romance novels, their confessional lyricism, cinematic world-building, and majestic vocals come together in what they call “gaysian theater pop”—music where love, humanity, and queerness take center stage.

Whether performing at local bookstores in Washington, DC, or on small stages in Brooklyn, their live shows create a brave, affirming space where listeners are seen, heard, and celebrated.

Foundations of Hand Balancing

SUNDAY, 2/22 • 11:45-1:15 PM

This workshop is designed to support students at any stage of their hand-balancing journey, with a focus on the fundamentals of handstands and the skills that support balancing on the hands more broadly.

We’ll work through strength-building techniques, alignment cues, and accessible practices that help develop stability, stamina, and confidence upside down. While the primary focus is on handstands, the principles explored in this workshop naturally support other inversion practices as well.

This is a beginner-friendly and supportive space. You will not be encouraged to do anything out of your comfort zone for this practice — we will meet you where you are at. Options will be offered for students who prefer to stay grounded, as well as for those who are comfortable working at the wall and are interested in refining technique or exploring ways to move away from it.

Fun tip: Feel free to come to Gina’s 8:30 AM vinyasa class to warm up, head out for coffee or a snack, and then come back ready to play with inversions.
